"And so the 'Fragile' that is the title of this body of work, refers not only to that which is obviously tender but also to a greater sense of vulnerability which I see revealed in many ways.

"The light struggled through the dense canopy of this pine forest and alighted on a few lucky branches. The trees themselves are rooted firmly - they stand strong and steadfast.

"The wispy lower branches repeated across the frame, somewhat less so. The light is even more tentative - substantial enough in its intensity, but ultimately defenceless in the face of the rapidly advancing cloud cover." Valda Bailey
